The Halasur Police Station in Bengaluru has successfully apprehended three suspects involved in two separate cases of vandalism that occurred on June 28, 2025.
The arrests follow a formal complaint Ramya lodged with Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar a few days ago. She claimed that several netizens sent her obscene messages and issued rape and death threats.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave these instructions after holding a meeting of senior police officers and a progress review meeting of the police department at the office of the State Director General of Police.
The operations were conducted at bars and restaurants located under the jurisdictions of Upparpet, Cottonpet, Kalasipalya, Cubbon Park, and Ashoknagar Police Stations.
The rider, identified as Suhas, was taken into custody after the video -- showing him slapping a woman -- sparked outrage on social media. The Bengaluru police later confirmed that the incident took place on June 13 and stemmed from an argument between the two.

The Commissioner expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to those who suffered in the incident and emphasised the need for remedial measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
"This is a tragedy caused by the government's irresponsibility. RCB is not a team representing the state. It is a private team bought by liquor vendors. In such a situation, the state government did not need to invite them and felicitate them," Snehamayi Krisha said.
Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara will hold a meeting with the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, senior police officials, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and officials.
