West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Monday expressed deep concern over the recent violence in Murshidabad, saying that "Hindus were threatened at gunpoint and forced to chant Islamic religious slogans."
Upon meeting the victims, Majumdar stated that if the Kolkata High Court permitted investigation by National investigation Agency, the government would follow the orders.
The advocate stated that there was an urgent need for the deployment of paramilitary forces in the region, and immediate action was needed. Thus, he had sought appropriate directions from the top court.
"Schools have reopened here after 10 days. Due to the violence on 11th April, schools were closed. The situation in Dhuliyan is better now. There are no problems now. Such an incident never took place here in the past..." the local said speaking to ANI.

"Nishikant Dubey's statement is a well-thought-out strategy... When the Chief Justice and his bench asked tricky questions as per the Constitution, the BJP people got scared and are now trying to put pressure on the Chief Justice and the judiciary," Punia said.
