An army officer's brother succumbed to injuries in Bengaluru after three drunken men allegedly assaulted him and his sister for raising objection to loud music, police said on Wednesday.
"Taking cognisance of this viral video of a woman being forced into a vehicle and beaten up, I am issuing a notice to the Delhi Police. The commission will ensure strict action against these people," DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal said in a tweet on Sunday.
Meanwhile, one of the accused who was beaten up by locals is currently unconscious and police said they are waiting for him to regain consciousness to question him.
The police registered a case against the group of youth on the same day of incident and now on the basis of the video their identification has been established and action will be taken against them, a police official said on Wednesday.
Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday said it had registered a complaint in connection with a viral video showing a man being assaulted by 10-11 miscreants inside the Padmavat Express in Uttar Pradesh.
In a complaint lodged with the GRP, the passenger alleged that he was forced to chant the 'Jai Shri Ram' slogan and the attackers even pulled his beard.
