In a historic move by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), India's cricket governing body on Thursday announced an equal match fee for both men's and women's cricketers of India.
"My focus is on World Cup. Whatever BCCI decides we will go by that," said the Indian captain while addressing a press conference ahead of the high-voltage clash against Pakistan.
"The Honourable Linda Dessau AC, the Governor of Victoria (@VicGovernor) and other dignitaries met the Indian Cricket Team today ahead of the #T20WorldCup," the BCCI tweeted.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur said on Thursday that the BCCI will look into the statement made by PCB and that India will host the 2023 Cricket World Cup with all countries
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 20 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday backed former Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly for the chairmanship of the ICC and targetted the Centre for allegedly removing the ex-BCCI chief from the post.
"It's a matter of BCCI and the board will look into it to make comments. India is a land of sports, where not only one but many World Cups have been hosted and the next World Cup too will be hosted in India with teams from around the world participating in it," said Thakur.
