Rohit Sharma is under the care of the BCCI Medical Team following his left thumb injury, which he sustained during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
"India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans," BCCI tweeted.
BCCI tweeted that Axar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI. Rishabh Pant has been released from the squad and will join the team for the Tests.
"Dayal has a lower back issue and is ruled out of the series while Jadeja is yet to recover from his knee injury and will continue to be under the supervision of the BCCI Medical team," The Board of Control for Cricket in India said in an official statement.

Mohammed Siraj is named as replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer has sustained a back injury and is currently under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. Bumrah is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup, starting October 16.
