Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is the first foreign guest on a bilateral State Visit to India after the formation of the Modi 3.0 government, received a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
This visit will give a "major boost" to India-Bangladesh ties, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Randhir Jaiswal in a social media post said that.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to depart for New Delhi tomorrow to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Describing Northeast India as a "big beneficiary" of dramatic improvement in India-Bangladesh ties, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the first few decades after the partition of India, in a number of ways, stunted the growth of the region.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Modi, the relationship between Bangladesh and India has strengthened, diversified, bringing economic and social benefits for the people of our region," he said, addressing a presser on Bangladesh-India ties.
While speaking to ANI, the foreign minister emphasized that India is not only a neighbour but also played a vital role in Bangladesh's independence war.
Notably, this is Mahmud's first foreign visit after being sworn into the new Bangladesh government following Sheikh Hasina's historic victory, securing a consecutive fourth term as Prime Minister.
