Trump has requested the US Supreme Court to overturn the Colorado state Supreme Court ruling that removed him from the state's 2024 ballot under the 14th Amendment's "insurrectionist clause."
This decision follows a similar move by the Colorado Supreme Court earlier this month, making Maine the second state to disqualify Trump from running for office.
The decision contrasts with the recent ruling from the Colorado Supreme Court, which kicked Trump off its primary ballot because of his role in the January 6 Capitol riot. That decision has been paused pending an appeal.
The Colorado Supreme Court has removed former US President Donald Trump from the state's 2024 ballot, ruling that he isn't an eligible presidential candidate because of the 14th Amendment's "insurrectionist ban," CNN reported.
In a statement on 'X', Digvijaya questioned the reasonableness of this proposal, stating, "After casting the vote, give the VVPAT slip to the voter, which he should put in the ballot box. Is this demand unreasonable?"
Trump leads Biden in hypothetical match-ups both with and without third-party options on the ballot in states including Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, according to fresh polling.
