Nine unclaimed bodies of Balasore train accident victims have been handed over to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials by AIIMS Bhubaneshwar in presemce of CBI officials for cremation on Tuesday.
The All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) executive director Ashutosh Mishra on Monday said there are 28 unclaimed bodies of Balasore train accident victims that will cremated as per the procedure defined.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prepared a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the disposal of the 28 unidentified bodies of the Balasore train accident, according to a statement issued by BMC on Sunday.
"At present, we have 28 bodies left with us. We are waiting for direction from the Railway Ministry, in coordination with the State Government," AIIMS Bhubaneswar Medical Superintendent, Dillip Kumar Parida, said while speaking to ANI.
