The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to Delhi Police on a bail plea moved by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Balyan in a case under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). Recently the trial court has refused to grant bail to him in the case.
The Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail application of AAP MLA Naresh Balyan in the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) case.
The Delhi Police on Tuesday strongly opposed the interim bail plea of Tahir Hussain, an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots. He has sought interim bail to contest and campaign in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections.
During the court hearing, Prosecutor Iqbal Kakhar and Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in court while Bushra Bibi's counsel presented a plea for exemption during the proceedings.
During the hearing presided over by ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Mohammad Zulqarnain on Friday, the petitions of 177 PTI workers were heard. Subsequently, 153 PTI workers were granted bail while the court rejected the bail pleas of 24 workers.
Dismissing his appeal, a division bench of justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma said, "No interference warranted in the impugned order," of the trial court.
The Rouse Avenue court on Thursday reserved its order on the bail plea of MLA Naresh Balyan in an MCOCA case. The court will pronounce the order on January 15.
Delhi police on Wednesday opposed the bail of AAP MLA Naresh Balyan and said that in his disclosure statement has disclosed his nexus and association with Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu.
