Following the boulders and Malwa, the Badrinath Highway has been closed, the police said and added that many vehicles of pilgrims visiting Badrinath got stuck.
On occasion, Special Executive Officer in the Tourism Department Bhaskar Khulbe and Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Mangesh Ghildiyal took stock of the reconstruction work at Badrinath Dham.
"The boards at various places in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham containing donations through QR codes were not put up by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). These boards were installed on the day of the opening of the doors in both Dhams. The boards were later removed by BKTC
In an initiative towards the cleanliness drive following the Chardham Yatra, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) cleaned the premises of the Badrinath temple in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Thursday.
Badrinath Dham portals are all set to open their doors for pilgrims on Thursday at 7:10 AM. Ahead of that the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu was decorated with 15 quintals of flowers. While the Chamoli district administration is seen busy with last-minute preparation for the Yatra.
"Char Dham Yatra began from Yamunotri Dham today. After this, the portals of Gangotri Dham will open today, Kedarnath Dham on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April 27. The first puja today was held on behalf of PM Modi," said CM Dhami.
The Badrinath Dham, part of the 'Char Dham' pilgrimage yatra, located in Garhwal hill tracks in the Chamoli district along the banks of the Alaknanda River was seen enveloped in snow on Thursday morning.
With the Char Dham Yatra set to start in Uttarakhand after three days, Dr R. Rajesh Kumar, secretary, state health department, has issued a health advisory for pilgrims.
