Devprakash Madhukar, the main suspect in the Hathras stampede that claimed 121 deaths, has surrendered in front of SIT, STF and Police, his Advocate AP Singh said in a video message on Friday.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Friday said that the state government of Uttar Pradesh will act on all the elements that will come out in the investigation of the stampede incident in Hathras that claimed the lives of 121 people.
Mathur also mentioned that six people have been arrested in the incident and Rs 1 lakh reward has been announced on the arrest of the main accused, Prakash Madhukar.
Uttar Pradesh Police constable Sheela Maurya, who was on security duty at the Hathras religious event, said the stampede occurred as a large number of people rushed to exit the venue together. In the Hathras stampede, 123 people were killed.

Union Minister SP Singh Baghel met Hathras stampede victims' families in Agra. He said that as per the information received 17 people in Agra district were killed. Out of the deceased, 16 are women and one is a man.
Hours after police force deployed outside Bhole Baba's ashram, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mainpuri Sunil Kumar on Thursday said that "Baba has not been found inside the ashram."

The prime facie report suggests that the stampede occurred as devotees rushed to seek blessing from 'Bhole Baba', the preacher at the religious congregation Satsang, as he was about to leave the venue after the prayer.
