Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the landslide-hit Ramban district on Monday to take stock of the situation and assess the ground situation.
Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, visited the site of the recent devastating landslide in Ramban district on Monday and provided an update on the ongoing relief operations.
Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Sunday visited the area affected by the landslide which killed three people and assured the public not to panic.
Despite the ongoing regional security situation, India remains committed to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) initiative, said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, adding that progress on IMEC is not frozen, despite appearances. "We have worked with select partners on IMEC."

The Centre told the Supreme Court it will not enforce key Waqf (Amendment) Act provisions for now, including appointments to Waqf bodies and de-notifying Waqf properties. SC posted the matter for further hearing in May.

Unrest broke out in Murshidabad during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act on April 11. The law has been a contentious issue in the region. The protests turned violent, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to several others, with widespread property damage.
Through the video conference with the Chief Secretary and the DGP of West Bengal, the Home Secretary advised the state administration to keep a close watch on other sensitive districts also and to put in place adequate steps to ensure normalcy at the earliest.
