New Delhi [India], July 26: A new Spanish study published in Alzheimer's and Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring, found an association between high blood levels of omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) from plant sources such as walnuts and better brain glucose utilization.

In the study, published in Alzheimer's & Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring, the team found that taking vitamin D was associated with living dementia-free for longer, and they also found 40 per cent fewer dementia diagnoses in the group who took supplements.
