After a gap of two days, Prime Minister Modi once again returned to the Gujarat election campaign trail. His three-hour-long mega roadshow is spanning across 16 assembly constituencies for the second phase of State Assembly elections.
Earlier today, PM Modi also hit back at Congress for the 'Ravana' remark. Addressing an election rally in Panchmahal, he said there is a competition among Congress leaders as to who will use the most abusive words for him.
The state has been a BJP stronghold for long and the party has set its sights on returning to power for the seventh term. Modi has been Gujarat's longest-serving chief minister from 2001 till 2014.
The voting began at 8 am in 89 constituencies spread across 19 districts of Kutch, Saurashtra and South Gujarat on Thursday and will continue till 5 pm. The voter turnout was 34.65 per cent till 1 pm.

Ahead of Gujarat assembly polls, the Election Commission of India seized cash, jewellery, drugs worth Rs 750 crore in Gujarat, said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in an Exclusive interview with ANI. Tomorrow is the first phase of elections in Gujarat in which voting will be held on
