Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed anguish over the loss of lives in the road accident in Guwahati's Jalukbari area and assured of providing all possible medical assistance to the injured.
At least seven students were killed and six others were left injured after the road accident at the Jalukbari area in Assam's Guwahati on late Sunday night.
"As per the preliminary investigation, we have found that the deceased persons are students. The incident took place at Jalukbari area," Thube Prateek Vijay Kumar said.

According to the release, the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express will provide people of the region the means to travel with speed and comfort. It will also boost tourism in the region, it added.
Massive preparations are underway to launch Northeast-bound Vande Bharat Express which will be running between Guwahati railway station in Assam and New Jalpaiguri railway station in West Bengal.
