"Union Home Minister called me today and inquired about the flood situation in Assam. He said National Disaster Response Force has been kept on stand-by and for any emergency Government of India is there," he told ANI.
As the flood situation in Assam remains grim, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and assured all possible assistance.

In Assam's flood-affected regions, 10782.80 hectares of cropland have been submerged by floodwaters, resulting in crop destruction. The flood has also disrupted the supply chain, which in turn has raised the price of vegetables for two consecutive weeks.

Around 200 families in Moiraranga, Batahghila village have been affected by this deluge and most of the families are now taking shelter on roads, and embankments by making temporary tents.
