Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on September 13 and 14 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several projects worth Rs 18,000 crore.
Earlier in the day, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Assam government to probe the alleged links of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi with Pakistan on Wednesday submitted its report to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday expressed deep condolences over the devastating floods in Himachal Pradesh and announced a contribution of Rs 5 crore from the people of Assam to the state's Chief Minister's Relief Fund to aid relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday launched Chief Minister's Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan in Dhekiajuli constituency. Under this, cheques were distibuted to 31,224 members of women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), covering 29,523 women from rural areas and 1,701 from urban areas.
The Chief Minister presented cheques of Rs 10,000 each to the beneficiaries from Jalukbari constituency to help them in their entrepreneurial activities.
