As the Indian contingent marched at the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur extended best wishes to all athletes participating in the tournament.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, Ankita said, "I had a medal in the Asian Games 2018 in singles, winning a bronze medal, so definitely my goal is to change the colour of the medal this time."

"When they (China) refused a visa to three of our athletes (for Asian Games) who hail from the state of Arunachal Pradesh. I decided that I will not go and participate in the Asian Games because Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India," Anurag Thakur said at an event in Coimbatore.
