The Indian shooting trio of Esha Singh, Palak and Divya Subbaraju continued the country's unstoppable run at shooting as they secured a silver medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle Pistol team final at the ongoing Asian Games on Friday.
The seventh-ranked India has started off their campaign with a victory that saw them dominate Singapore, the world's 34-ranked side for the entire game.
With the score of 469.6 points, Sift not only topped the charts to secure a gold, but also broke the world record, Asian record and the Asian Games record. The world record was held by Great Britain, the Asian record was held by China and the Asian Games record was previously held by Mongoli
India got a total of 1759 points, enough to clinch the gold. The silver medal was secured by China with 1756 points. South Korea got the bronze medal with a total of 1742 points.
The Indian Women's Hockey Team will begin their quest for the gold medal in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou on September 27 with their opening match against Singapore.
