Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) leader Jayant Patil on Monday dismissed speculation of him joining the ruling BJP and said that he neither contacted any leader from the ruling party nor did they contact him.
"I am hopeful that things will work out well. By becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha, there is a much wider scope to work at the national level. More than that, I will be happy to associate myself with the party's strategy, planning, and working," Chavan told ANI.
"I am an ordinary party worker. I didn't know I was being nominated. I did not expect that I would be nominated for the Rajya Sabha. I have been in the BJP for the past 25-30 years. I want to work in the areas of medical education and research," he said.
