Asha workers are playing an essential role in promoting institutional deliveries in the Bhalesa region of the Doda district. From March, they will receive an increment of Rs 1000 in their incentive.
The workers continued their indefinite strike against the Left Democratic Alliance (LDF) government on Saturday, demanding a monthly honorarium of Rs 21,000 per and a retirement benefit of Rs 5 lakh.
Nadda also commended the role of ASHA workers, "grassroot foot soldiers", in the healthcare system and stressed on the need for their further empowerment and welfare through revised incentives for routine activities, and providing enhanced honorariums.
LoP and Congress leader VD Satheesan criticized the LDF government over ASHA workers' protest, accusing it of failing to fulfill its Rs 21,000 honorarium promise.
"It is appalling that women who are the backbone of society should have to beg for their rights like this. Instead of justice, all they have got from the Kerala government is apathy and attempts to silence them," Vadra said.
"Their demands are just and fair. UDF MPs will take this issue to the Indian Parliament. The state government must shed its arrogance. This is a legitimate protest, and the Congress party fully supports it," Venugopal said.
The National Health Authority (NHA) has begun preparations for the rollout, including training Delhi's health officials, personnel, and ASHA workers to create Ayushman Bharat cards, settle claims, and register hospitals

The Supreme Court on Tuesday came down heavily on YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia for his inappropriate comments during his guest appearance on a show India's Got Latent, and described it as "dirty and perverted."
"It is an absolute lie that thousands of people have died at Maha Kumbh... He should be ashamed of giving such a cheap statement. How can one-fourth of the population of the country come to Maha Kumbh without any arrangements in place?" Sirsa remarked.
"He (Bhagwant Mann) is a part of the 'tukde tukde' gang who always thinks of dividing the nation. His agents are working in Punjab and illegal shops are running here... isn't that something to be ashamed of??" he further said.
