Seven international flights were cancelled and twelve delayed on Tuesday after volcanic ash affected airspace conditions, prompting airlines to adjust both arrivals and departures for safety.
A volcanic ash cloud from Ethiopia's Hayli Gubbi volcano reached northwest India, disrupting visibility and flights. The DGCA issued an advisory urging airlines and airports to stay alert, while Akasa Air, IndiGo and KLM cancelled several services as authorities monitored the shifting ash
The explosive eruption began around 8.30 am UTC on Sunday, said the Toulouse VAAC advisory. Satellite imagery later confirmed a large ash column rising between 10-15km into the atmosphere.
