Tezu Airport is a domestic airport located in the city of Tezu which operates via a single runway. The domestic airport has undergone a transformation with the implementation of infrastructure upgrades worth Rs 170 crore.
Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will inaugurate the newly developed infrastructure of Tezu Airport in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein, Airports Authority of India (AAI) member planning AK Pathak.
"A new Terminal Building at Tezu Airport is scheduled for inauguration on September 24, 2023. Currently, this domestic airport operates with a single runway and covers an area of 212 acres," the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a post on X.
"When they (China) refused a visa to three of our athletes (for Asian Games) who hail from the state of Arunachal Pradesh. I decided that I will not go and participate in the Asian Games because Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India," Anurag Thakur said at an event in Coimbatore.
Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Taggi Taki, along with team of Agriculture Officers on Friday visited India International Trade Centre (IIKSTC) Dussoo, Pampore.
"It is a well-known fact that China is always trying against India. China has an evil design for these northeast states. Now this time they are...(denying) visas to Arunachal Pradesh just to humiliate India," Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Numal Momin said.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju strongly condemned the Chinese act of denying visas to three female Wushu players belonging to Arunachal Pradesh and said that the act violates both the spirit of Sports and the Rules governing the conduct of the Asian Games.
"China's illegal action is not going to change the status of Arunachal Pradesh. China has been, for many years, denying visas to officials from Arunachal Pradesh," Kiren Rijiju said on the denial of regular visas to athletes from the state on Friday.
Amidst the ongoing controversy of three Arunachal wushu players being denied entry to China, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Mao Ning said that as a host nation, they welcome all athletes.
Official Spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi addressed the ongoing concern of three Indian sportspersons who were denied entry to China to compete in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
These developments include the extension of the runway to 1500 meters by 30 meters, the construction of a modern apron capable of accommodating two ATR 72 type aircraft, the establishment of a new terminal building, and the creation of a fire station cum Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower, read
