A Mumbai court on Monday sent four accused, arrested for allegedly making a morphed video of a Shiv Sena woman leader, to police custody till March 15.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) youth wing leader Santanu Banerjee who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the teachers' recruitment scam case, has been sent to the custody of the central agency for 11 days.
A woman was arrested for allegedly smuggling over 2 kg of gold estimated to be valued at over Rs one crore, concealed in her undergarments, on Monday, said officials of Kozhikode Airport.
The PTI spokesperson said that the police raided the houses of the party leaders, including Khurram Sher Zaman, Raja Azhar and PTI Secretary General Arsalan Taj Hussain.
The accused person namely Oluebube Damain, 29 years a native of Owerri, Imo State of Nigeria was arrested by the team when he had come at Mohan Garden for supplying methaqualone drugs to unknown person.
Two persons were arrested for amplifying the alleged morphed video of Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve and a woman party leader, the police informed on Sunday.
"In case I am arrested we have a plan ready which will be shared with the nation when the time is right," he said hours after postponing his party's election rally in Lahore on Sunday.
"A video targeting me was made during a rally where local MLA, MPs & Chief Minister Eknath Shinde were present. The video was posted on FB page named Matoshree with dirty songs, encouraging people to make it viral," she told ANI.
Two persons involved in making an objectionable video of Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve (Shinde faction) and a woman leader have been arrested, said Mumbai police.
