The Canadian police on Saturday released photographs of all three persons arrested in the killing of Nijjar amid an ongoing probe into the alleged connections of the Indian government.
The accused cleric was caught also for threatening the chief editor of a television channel as well as Telangana BJP leaders, including an MLA and former spokesperson of the party, officials said.
Director General of Police (DGP), Uttarakhand, Abhinav Kumar, said on Saturday that cases have been registered in nine districts and three people have been arrested in connection to the forest fire situation in the state.
"The Crime Branch received information that Avneesh, accused of firing on a youth in the Harsh Vihar area, was about to reach near Ghazipur Paper Market. Thereafter, the team set a vehicle trap," said the police.
The Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday sent the arrested accused Vinod Chauhan to three days of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) custody in connection with the alleged money laundering case linked to Delhi excise policy.
After a video of a vada pav seller being 'arrested' by police officials went viral on social media, Delhi police on Saturday responded to the videos, saying that the woman was not arrested, and no case has been registered against her.
The accused who have been arrested were identified as Gorla Hemachandra Rao (34), Kunnuku Hemanthkumar (29), M Subbareddy (28), Danala Srinivas (34) and Janna Sunil (27), all the residents of Vizianagaram, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Pothinamallayya Palem Sunil said.
According to court documents, Karanpreet Singh (28), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karan Brar (22) each face charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in relation to Nijjar's death
