The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam police has arrested a person and seized a large quantity of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) near ISBT bypass, Guwahati.

"Police have so far arrested two persons in connection with the alleged rape incident, and the main accused is still absconding," said Leena Doley, Superintendent of Police of Hailakandi district.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday arrested businessman Dinesh Arora in connection with its ongoing probe in Delhi excise policy case, sources said.
The case was heard by a five-member commission presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner and the action was prompted by Fawad's absence from the hearing related to the ECP contempt case.
After their arrest, the accused Sachin Sangwan, Aman Singh and Ravi Gupta were produced before the court amid heavy security. A heavy police force was deployed in view of the possibility of clashes between the groups of lawyers.
The incident occurred in Barkhadi village in the district on June 30 where villagers caught two dalits allegedly in connection with molestation. They blackened their faces, garlanded them with shoes and paraded in the village.
