In a joint operation, the troops of the Indian Army and J-K Police foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishnaghati Sector, Poonch, on the intervening night of June 14-25, an official statement said on Thursday.
It sought "Directions to be passed to the Indian Army to take full control of the law and order and public order situation in the districts of Churachanpur, Chandel, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Imphal West."
Armed forces have been deployed along the coastline and intensified their efforts to provide assistance to the villagers residing in the border region.
On the third anniversary of the Galwan Valley clashes, top military officers deployed along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh held operational discussions to further strengthen the preparedness in the region.
"The deal for the Predator drones was given approval by the Defence Acquisition Council meeting today. The acquisition proposal will now have to follow a procedure after which it will have to be cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security," defence sources told ANI here.

India is all set to finalise a deal for acquiring MQ-9 Reaper armed drones from the US in a Defence Acquisition Council meeting (DAC) to be held today in the national capital, said Defence officials.
The meeting will be held between senior military officers of Northern Command, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashim Bali and other top officers.
