The Mangalhat Police have issued a formal notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Thakur Raja Singh, warning him against disregarding government-assigned security arrangements, especially while visiting areas deemed highly sensitive.
As heavy rains continued to lash parts of Northeast India, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Fire Service launched extensive rescue operations in flood-affected areas, rescuing over 1,500 people across various districts.
Triggered by intense moisture incursion, the heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has disrupted connectivity, inundated low-lying areas, and forced thousands into relief camps, even as authorities brace for more downpours in the coming days.
Amidst rising water levels caused by continuous rainfall in Agartala, Assam Rifles launched swift rescue operations on June 1 in the general areas of Chandrapur and Resham Bagan under Sadar Subdivision, West Tripura.
According to officials, due to heavy outbursts of rainfall, six buildings and one Assam-type house in Chandmary and Bazar areas in Mizoram's Lawngtlai district were affected on Saturday evening. The district administration has rescued the people from the debris.

Water levels in the Brahmaputra river continued to remain high in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Sunday following incessant rainfall in several parts of the state and neighbouring regions.
Assam Housing Urban & Affairs Minister (DoHUA) Jayanta Mallabaruah visited various flood-affected areas in Guwahati on Saturday to assess the prevailing situation and review the government's emergency response measures.
"Guwahati is receiving heavy rainfall for the past 2-3 days...Three people, including two children and a lady, died following a landslide in the Chapaidong area yesterday...Till today, five people have died due to heavy rainfall...We are making efforts to resolve the problem of waterlogging.
