On Monday, India took home six medals. In addition to four gold medals, India received a silver medal in men's individual 10m air rifle from Divyansh Singh Panwar and a bronze medal in men's individual compound archery from Aman Saini, as per Olympics.com.
At the world championships, India's medal total included one gold, one silver, and one bronze, making it the best-ever performance for the nation. The previous high for India was two silvers in Dubai last year.
The World Archery Youth Championships 2023 in Limerick, Ireland, have a 24-person Indian team competing. The event began on Monday, July 3, and will end on Sunday, July 9.
The 2023 edition of World Archery Youth Championships has a total of 518 archers (277 men and 241 women) from 58 countries competing for medals in individual and team events.
The 16-year-old Aditi scored a total of 711 out of 720 points and topped the 72-arrow qualification, surpassing the previous world record set by USA's Liko Arreola in May of 705 points, as per Olympics.com
According to Olympics.com, India's archery contingent includes 16 members - eight men and eight women. Veteran Olympian Tarundeep Rai is set to participate in the event, however, Atanu Das will miss the competition.
