According to the latest Air Quality Index (AQI) rankings from IQAir, Karachi and Lahore are listed among the most polluted cities in the world, based on data from a prominent global air quality monitoring service.
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the overall AQI in Delhi was recorded at 362 as of 8 am on Sunday with the national capital engulfed by a thick layer of smog.
The toxic smog which continues to grip Lahore and other parts of Pakistan, has worsened, with the city reporting over 15,000 cases of respiratory and viral infections in just 24 hours.
Lahore, which has been reeling under severe pollution is now seeing thick and toxic smog clouds which are now visible through space via satellite imagery taken by NASA, Geo News reported.
In a self made video, Poonawalla said "News has come that CJI (Dy Chandrachud) has stopped his morning walk due to the spike in air pollution. Delhi has become a gas chamber and poisonous air is everywhere. You cannot even roam around without a mask."
The overall air quality index in the national capital slipped to the 'Very Poor' category on Sunday, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) informed.
