In a press release, Indian Coast Guard said, "ICGS Arinjay, whilst patrolling in the Arabian Sea, observed one Pakistani Fishing Boat fishing about 15 KM inside Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line on November 21, 2023."
The Indian Coast Guard handed over the fishermen, who crossed the border into Indian waters near the 5th sandbar in the Adam Bridge sandbar near Arichalmunai, Dhanushkodi in the Rameswaram island region, to Tamil Nadu Coastal Security Group Police for further legal action.
During the search, some documents related to "maoist" activities and a 7.65 mm pistol loaded with six rounds of cartridges, cash worth Rs 40,000 were recovered from the possession of accused Pratik Bhowmik. One motorcycle was also seized from their possession.
SAS Nagar Police Mohali on Thursday apprehended Gurpal Singh, an operative of foreign-based criminals Goldy Brar and Saba USA. Gurpal has been arrested from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
According to a press release issued by the BSF Punjab Frontier, "On the intervening night of October 12th / 13th, BSF intercepted a suspected drone as well as heard some dropping sounds near Village U/Dhaliwal, District Amritsar. As per the laid-down drill, BSF troops immediately reacted.
"During the operation, the police team recovered and seized 464 grams of heroin. Cash of Rs 1,92,350, one motorcycle, and two cars were also seized. One person has been apprehended in this connection," a senior police official of Nagaon district said.
"A lady drug peddler has been apprehended along with 30 vials containing suspected heroin weighing 42.5 grammes and cash worth Rs 3,470," Partha Sarathi Mahanta added.
