A special Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) court has sent the accused Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist Dr Pradeep Kurulkar to ATS custody till Tuesday.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday continued the searches in Jammu and Kashmir in the case of terror funding by Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir-- an unlawful association under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
In cases filed against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act across the province for carrying out attacks on the Corps Commander House in Lahore, public and private buildings, the Punjab police arrested 540 more leaders and members of the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Friday,
The NIA carried out searches at the hideouts of suspects in the case which was taken over by the anti-terror agency almost a month ago and it started its probe charging the "highly radicalised" arrested accused Shahrukh Safi.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Karim, a resident of Chhindwara. Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested him from Chhindwara itself on Tuesday (May 9) and produced before the court on Wednesday.
While demanding further custody of the accused DRDO scientist Dr Pradeep Kurulkar, the prosecution informed the court that the scientist had met some women at the DRDO guest house for which the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra has sought the registered entries from the guest house,
According to a release issued by Madhya Pradesh Police, the ATS team arrested 10 members of HuT from Bhopal and one member from Chhindwara district. The team also recovered anti-national documents, technical equipment, radical literature and other materials from the arrested members of HuT.
