Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the severely injured people in the flash flood triggered by a cloud burst in Kishtwar.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that rescue and relief operations in Kishtwar are continuing through the night after a devastating cloudburst struck the district on August 14, leaving over 60 people dead.
The cloudburst, which occurred along the Machail Mata Yatra route, triggered flash floods and widespread destruction on Thursday, killing at least 60 people.

Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Sat Sharma on Friday expressed grief over the cloudburst in Kishtwar, stating that more than 46 people have lost their lives and several others are injured.
