Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan ordered to take immediate relief measures and to send as many ambulances as possible from Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to visit Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli district on October 16. The Chief Minister will inaugurate several Pharma units and Vizag Infosys.
"At about 11:10 am, in a pharmaceutical lab, when a solvent was being loaded into a container, some short circuit occurred and the solvent exploded. There were 35 people working, and 7 were injured. The injured have been shifted to the hospital," ASP PSN Rao, Anakapalli told ANI.
The fire was caused due to a sudden reactor blast, according to the Superintendent of Police, Anakapalli Murali Krishna. Two people suffered severe injuries from the fire and were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
According to officials, Thursday night, five people had gone for some repair work at a fire in Atchutapuram in Anakapalli district. They were on their way back to Visakhapatnam Friday morning when their vehicle collided with a lorry truck.
"An unknown vehicle hit an auto going which was going towards Tuni from Addu road. After getting hit by the unknown vehicle, Auto immediately ran into a bike which was coming from the opposite side," the police official said.
A pregnant woman from Pedagaruvu who gave birth to a child at home, was taken to a hospital on a makeshift palanquin. Due to the hilly terrain, the ambulance could not reach her place.
Four workers were killed while one was seriously injured in a flash fire that was reported in Paravada Laurus Pharma labs Limited Company in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli, according to an official on late Monday evening.
