In a landmark move to facelift the railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stones for re-development of 56 stations over Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on August 6.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country Sunday morning via video conferencing, a release from Prime Minister's Office said.
As many as 57 railway stations in Odisha have been identified to be taken up under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the East Coast Railway said in a release Tuesday.
The Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament for the Ministry of Railways on Thursday resolved to upgrade 1,275 railway stations under Amrit Bharat Station. The decision was taken at a meeting in New Delhi.
The Railway Ministry has formulated a new policy for the modernization of stations named the "Amrit Bharat Station" scheme that envisages the development of stations on a continuous basis with a long-term vision, said an official statement.
