Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran on Wednesday said there is no possibility of an alliance with AIADMK as long as Edappadi Palani Sami remains the party's CM candidate.
"The DMK, which once attacked certain leaders while in the opposition, is now rolling out the red carpet for the very same people after coming to power. Their stance as a ruling party and as an opposition party has always been contradictory," Palaniswami said.
Speaking to reporters in Thanjavur, Dhinakaran said, "Edappadi claims that he allied with the BJP to show gratitude, but that is nothing less than "Satan reciting the scriptures. It was not the BJP that saved Palaniswami but the 122 MLAs who were lodged at Koovathur during the crisis."
As Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam chief, TTV Dhinakaran slammed Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran for not handling the NDA "properly", the BJP leader said that he cannot be held responsible for AMMK quitting the alliance.
Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam chief TTV Dhinakaran said that his party will be part of the willing coalition days after the party distanced itself from the NDA alliance.
Days after Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam quit the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu, its chief, TTV Dhinakaran, raised questions over the competence of current BJP state chief Nainar Nagendran in handling the coalition, which he believed was "handled properly" by former BJP chief Annamalai.
Speaking to reporters in Trichy, Dhinakaran was asked about the upcoming conference organised by O Panneerselvam (OPS) in Madurai on September 4. In a cryptic reply, he said, "Just wait and see who will be attending," suggesting that there may be unexpected names on the guest list.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Tamil Nadu's BJP President K Annamalai in Theni held a campaign in support of Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK) Chief TTV Dhinakaran who is an NDA alliance candidate.
TTV Dhinakaran, whose Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK) is a partner of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu, is also contesting from the Theni Lok Sabha seat.
