Huge quantities of drugs and ammunition have been recovered from slain terrorists in a joint operation by Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in the Kala Jungle of the Machhal sector in Kupwara, said an official statement.
On the basis of secret information regarding cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition, a team of Counter Intelligence Amritsar carried out a search operation in the area of village Kakkar and successfully recovered four pistols along with magazines from a field, police said.

Special Task Force (STF) on Friday arrested a man for allegedly possessing arms and ammunition, under the Siuri police station in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, said the police.
Security Forces conducted Joint Combing Operations for the second consecutive day in the Hills and Valley Sector of Manipur on Thursday, an official statement said.
"At about 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on June 5, a Ukrainian subversive and reconnaissance group blew up the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline near the settlement of Masyutovka in the Kharkov Region. Civilians were injured as a result of this terrorist act," the spokesman said.
The recoveries of arms and ammunition were made from Porompat Police Station in Imphal East and Sugnu Police Station in the Kakching districts of Manipur.
"Inputs indicate casualties to insurgents. This is being verified on the ground. During preliminary search-two AK series rifles, one 51mm mortar, two carbines, ammunition, and warlike stores were recovered from the general area," the Indian Army said.
"In a case registered at Sarai Akeel police station, accused Abdul Kavi (aide of late mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed) was taken on police remand for 36 hours," Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, Superintendent of Police (SP) said.
The raids were being conducted at nine locations in Punjab and one in Haryana in connection with a criminal conspiracy hatched to raise funds for the banned terrorist outfit and also smuggle arms, ammunition and explosives for it from across the border.
