Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Monday launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his remarks "Congress and opposition will support morality" on the 130th Amendment Bill, stating that Shah speaking about morality is the "greatest joke of the century."
Reacting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement, "Many people in Congress, opposition will support morality", and on the 130th Amendment bill, Congress leader Udit Raj said on Monday that there are a lot of people in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) who do not like this bill.
Baghel added that the police officers will put public representatives in jail under such provisions where they do not get bail for at least six months.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence that the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, will be passed, despite the opposition's fierce criticism.
"It was natural that the vice presidential candidate comes from South India because the President is from East India and the Prime Minister is from the West and North," Union Home Minister Shah told ANI in an interview.
"Dhankar sahab's resignation letter is clear in itself. He has cited health reasons for his resignation. He has also expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Prime Minister and other ministers and members of the government for his good tenure," Shah told ANI in an exclusive interview.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Shah also took aim at Rahul Gandhi and demanded that the Congress leader should give an explanation for the Opposition alliance deciding to pick a nominee who "sympathisised with left-wing ideology" and whose ruling that "disbanded" the "armed civilian
Speaking to ANI, Amit Shah defended the bill, stating it's aimed at upholding "constitutional morality" and public trust, emphasising that the bill would apply equally to all leaders, including those from the ruling party.
