BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday hit out at All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi for criticising the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and alleged that he was trying to mislead the country in the name of religion.
"His statement is completely condemnable. The names that he has taken are the leaders who support NDA. These amendments are being brought for the security of the Waqf properties...These amendments in the Waqf Bill are the need of the hour," Patel told ANI.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi spoke on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 and said that the BJP does not have a majority in the Lok Sabha, and if Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar oppose it, it won't be passed.
"We have to understand that when it comes to the issue of Waqf, that whenever there is an issue that relates to a particular community, there are certain people who try to mislead the community that the government is doing something against them," Milind Deora told ANI.

Congress MP Mohammad Jawed on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led Central government over the Waqf Amendment Bill, alleging it was taking the country gradually towards civil war.
