Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has implemented a robust security plan to safeguard pilgrims travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday visited the Shri Amarnath Yatra Base Camp at Baltal located in Ganderbal district and reviewed the arrangements for the holy pilgrimage.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V K Birdi took stock of the arrangements for the peaceful conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY-2024) during a meeting held at the Conference Hall of Police Control Room Kashmir, IGP Kashmir said in a press release.
Kashmir Zone Inspector General of Police VK Birdi on Sunday visited the Baltal main yatra camp to assess the security arrangements and reviewed various facilities in preparation for the annual Amarnath Yatra.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a momentous virtual appearance before the "Pratham Puja" at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, marking the start of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
"We are reviewing the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra. We will ensure the implementation of the cut-off timings so that the flow of that yatra to and from Jammu and Kashmir is smooth. More police and traffic police will be deployed on the roads that are under construction," Jammu AD
With the view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Jammu, Anand Jain on Thursday conducted a briefing session with police officers to ensure a secure, smooth, and successful pilgrimage for the devotees at the Conference Hall of ZPHQ Jammu
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed security and logistics arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra in a high-level meeting, instructing the security agencies to be "vigilant" and "ensure sufficient deployment of security personnel" for the annual pilgrimage.
Noting that the "fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is in its decisive phase," Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday directed all security agencies to "work in a mission mode and ensure quick response in a coordinated manner."
In the five-hour-long meeting, which was separated into two rounds, including a short break, Amit Shah also emphasised that the Modi administration is dedicated to setting a precedent by tackling terrorists with innovative strategies.
