The BJP-led NDA is set to form its third successive government at the Centre with the Lok Sabha election results on Tuesday throwing up a verdict that also brought cheer to the opposition INDIA bloc as it put up a strong performance with Congress almost touching the 100-seat mark

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat launched a scathing attack at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying that those who gave the slogan of '400 paar' has struggled to attain even 272 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"This is a good result, and for those (the BJP) claiming to get 400 seats, their claim has fallen flat. The BJP has not got an absolute majority. They don't have any moral right to form a government. People have rejected them. This is a big victory (for INDI alliance)," Shukla told ANI.

BJP president JP Nadda said on Tuesday that it is for the first time an alliance is going to form the government at the Centre for the third consecutive time as he thanked people for supporting the NDA which is poised to win 290 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

This comes after the BJP failed to cross the majority mark on its own. According to the Election Commission of India, BJP is currently ahead on 239 seats. But, the overall tally of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is close to 300.
