External Affairs S Jaishankar called on the Sri Lankan President yesterday and expressed confidence that his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
NCP Nagaland president Vanthungo Odyuo has confirmed that all the seven NCP MLAs in the north-eastern state has sent a letter in favor of Deputy Chief Minister Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar on Thursday morning.
According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, the victim identified as Tasin Shaikh died after a portion of a third-floor slab of a five-storey building collapsed in Mumbai's West Bhandup area.
"I and Ajit Pawar were present at the NDA meeting today along with 38 political parties. NCP is an integral part of NDA. In future, NCP will work with the NDA," Praful Patel said.
Representatives from a total of 38 political parties were in attendance as the meeting the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP got underway in the national capital on Tuesday evening.
PM Modi took to Twitter and said," It is a matter of immense joy that our valued NDA partners from across India will be attending the meeting in Delhi today. Ours is a time-tested alliance which seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations."
After having rebelled from the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party, Ajit Pawar NCP faction leader Praful Patel met NCP Chief on Monday and said that a request was made to the veteran leader to keep the party united, but he refrained from commenting on the issue.
It will be the first session after former Leader of Opposition and NCP leader, Ajit Pawar, broke ranks with his uncle, Sharad Pawar, who is also the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo and joined hands with the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance along with a bunch of NCP MLAs.
While addressing the joint press conference alongside Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar said,"We will answer all the questions which came from opposition side in this monsoon session. We will solve Maharashtra people's problem."
