Jaishankar expressed confidence that discussions during his visit will maintain that positive trajectory. He noted that the ties between two nations have been improving since the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan.

"NSA Ajit Doval was scheduled to attend the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues to be held in Moscow, Russia, on 27-29 May 2025. He is, however, unable to participate in the meeting due to indisposition with a seasonal flu," sources said.
