The AIMPLB will begin nationwide protests and legal action against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025, passed by both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Board claims the Bill is harmful to Waqf properties and will create division in the country.
The bill introduces reforms such as strengthening Waqf tribunals, setting fixed tenures for board members, and reducing mandatory contributions from Waqf institutions to boards from 7 per cent to 5 per cent. It also mandates audits for institutions earning over Rs one lakh and establishes a

Congress MLA and All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) executive member Arif Masood said that the board has rejected the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and would never accept it.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday launched a sharp attack on NDA allies including Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and Jayant Chaudhary, accusing them of enabling the BJP to target Muslim institutions and warning them that the community "will never forgive" their actions.
"This is a way to mark protest in a democracy. Today, you will see Muslims wearing black armbands come to offer namaz. This will send a clear message that the community is against this bill," AIMPLB spokesperson Rasool IIyas told ANI.
"Each political party will be adopting a suitable method of protest against the Waqf bill, my party has decided that we will oppose this bill because the only intention of the BJP government is to create polarisation," Brittas told ANI at parliament premises.
