All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to contest elections from Hyderabad and not Wayanad in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Even as AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi proposed a third front led by Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, ahead of next year's Lok Sabha elections, Communist Party of India leader Binoy Viswam on Sunday said no such front can ever be formed.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday hit out at the Central government and said that the kind of politics the BJP-led Central Government is doing will harm the country.
"We are here to ask the question in our 'tum abhi chup raho' republic where the PM tells a Governor 'chup raho'. We as elected MPs in this House are routinely told 'chup raho'. This motion is to break this code of silence on Manipur", said Mahua Moitra.
"Akhilesh Yadav said that it is necessary to save real 'Hindutva'. In the Legislative Assembly elections, he got one-sided Muslim votes...now he is saying that it is necessary to save real Hindutva. Why are you befooling Muslims in Uttar Pradesh?" the AIMIM chief said.
"Three soldiers were killed in South Kashmir why there is no uproar in the country? Because there BJP-led government and Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister? ...Three of our soldiers were killed by terrorists who came from Pakistan and you will play a World Cup match with them (Pakistan)?...
IMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday reacted to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) survey at the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi.
Owaisi said that the hope is that the floodgate for a thousand Babris not be opened.
Slamming Narendra Modi's lead government at the Centre for proposing the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi called UCC a political exercise aimed to divert the course of debate away from key issues like poverty, unemployment and inflation.
Revealing secretive talks between some Congress leaders and the AIMIM, Owaisi said, "They had a discussion with us too. I asked them to wait for now. We will tell you when it is the right time," the AIMIM chief said.
