The Supreme Court on Friday asked the AIADMK party General Council to pass a resolution related to a candidate who will represent the party in the upcoming bye-elections of Erode (East) constituency in Tamil Nadu.
The election in Tamil Nadu's Erode (east) are scheduled to be held on February 27 as the death of Congress leader Thiru E Thirumahan Everaa necessitated them.
Filing an affidavit in the AIADMK leadership, the poll panel said the bye-laws dated July 11, 2022, were not taken on record by it as the same is under challenge before the top court.
Tamil Nadu BJP leaders said the party would send its inputs to the national leadership for the final decision. Party sources said BJP would make a final decision on Erode East bye-election within two days.
