Union Minister of State for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasized the urgency of adapting regulations to keep pace with the evolving landscape of AI at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) summit in Delhi.
"All of us recognize that AI, if safe, has the capability to make so much human prosperity, to make so much possible for all of us, particularly in India, actually, I see so many fascinating use cases, but to get there, it has to be safe," said the UK minister, speaking to ANI.
Artificial Intelligence as a technology in its current form is largely task-oriented and not capable of dealing with a situation where logic and reasoning are needed, said Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and noted that he does not see any threat to job loss.
Regarding concerns about AI's power, Smith said any technology that exists today looked dangerous to people who lived before it. However, he said that there should be a safety break in place.
