India and Pakistan have agreed to a cessation of hostilities following escalating tensions, with former Indian High Commissioner G Parthasarathy sharply criticising Pakistan's military leadership and drawing parallels to the Kargil conflict.
Residents in the border district of Poonch have expressed relief following the recent understanding reached between India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions, with many welcoming the return of normalcy and appealing for long-term peace.
