President of the Union of Comoros and chairperson of the African Union (AU), Azali Assoumani on Sunday thanked PM Modi for his initiative and efforts in making the African Union a permanent member of the G20.
The G20 Summit successfully culminated with multiple bilateral meetings held with world leaders and the announcement of various initiatives to pave the path for enhanced relations among the G20 countries as well as the European Union and the newly added African Union.
President of the Union of Comoros and chairperson of the African Union (AU), Azali Assoumani, on Sunday said India is a superpower in terms of "inhabitance" and "ahead of China now".
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move to include the African Union in G20, he said that Comoros is vital to India’s SAGAR Vision and the deliberations have included ways to boost cooperation in areas like shipping and trade.

In a historic development, the New Delhi Declaration was adopted on Saturday by the leaders of the G20 leaders during the Leader’s Summit here in the national capital.
“Honoured to welcome the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 Family. This will strengthen the G20 and also strengthen the voice of the Global South,” wrote PM Modi on X.
