Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday criticised President Droupadi Murmu's address to a joint sitting of the Parliament on the opening day of the Budget Session, saying that her speech skipped reference to important issues such as unemployment.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also said that party chief and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge along with other Members of Parliament (MPs) would not be able to attend the address of President Droupadi Murmu in Parliament on Tuesday.
Chowdhury's remarks came at a time when political parties, in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, are formulating strategies for the upcoming polls.
Taking note of the alleged 'serious' security breach in Kashmir during the last leg of Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Friday accused the Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha saying that he is responsible behind the security lapse.
"If they (BJP) do not like something, they term it anti-national and get it removed. We (Congress) do not need any support from broadcasters in our fight against the BJP. We do not care what the media says about us," Chowdhury told ANI.
